The Integrated Cell on Wheels (COW) is a portable base station used to provide temporary cellular network coverage for high-profile events and emergency situations where existing base stations become damaged, or during natural disaster. Its use is strategic for handling emergencies and temporary voice and data traffic peaks on mobile networks. The COW can be transported over large distances and on rough terrain, and may be left on site for an extended period of time with the use of either mains power or a backup generator.
